Mammals

Our work covers other mammal species which are protected by European and domestic legislation. Our team have expertise in a range of mammal surveys and have a track record in providing effective mitigation strategies and securing appropriate licences. We undertake survey work for the following species:

• Badgers - we have ecologists experienced in surveys (stages 1-3), preparation of mitigation plans and submission of Natural England licence applications. We can supply and fit badger gates if appropriate.

• Water voles - our experience with water voles includes survey and monitoring work for The National Trust, private development companies, Local Authorities, The Environment Agency and Internal Drainage Boards. We can provide advice in respect of mitigation and measures to avoid disturbance to water voles and their habitat, particularly following the recent tightening of the legislation. As a final option we can undertake translocations (under licence).

• Otters - we undertake boat-based surveys for this species and can provide mitigation and advice if necessary.
